Lucía “La Piñona” was born in Jimena de la Frontera (Cádiz) in 1985. She started dancing when she was 10 years old in dance academies in “El Campo de Gibraltar”. At 17 she moved to Granada. A year later she settled in Sevilla to study at the Christina Heeren Foundation learning from flamenco masters such as Milagros Mengíbar, Rafael Campallo, and Carmen Ledesma.
She still continues to train with different teachers such as Andrés Peña, Eva Yerbabuena, Rubén Olmo and Andrés Marín.
She participates in many flamenco tablaos like “El Arenal”, “Los Gallos”, “Casa Patas”, “Corral de la Morería”, “El Cordobés”, or “El Carmen” in Barcelona, and “Las Carboneras” and “Villarosa” in Madrid.
She was awarded with the First Prize for the “Desplante Trophy” (Trofeo Desplante) at the flamenco dance competition, in la Unión Cante de las Minas 2011 (certamen de baile flamenco de la Unión, Cante de las Minas 2011) and the First Prize of the Flamenco Institutions Federation of Sevilla (Federación de Entidades Flamencas de Sevilla) in 2009.
At the present time she is participating in the show TABLAO by Arcángel and frequently in the show “De lo jondo y verdadero” by Esperanza Fernández.
Throughout her career she has toured in Ecuador, Honduras, Bélgica, Saint Petersburg, Lebanon, London, or Kenya. In the latter, she has collaborated with the “Garden Opera” in London in the show “Carmen”.
